Social Action

The mission of the Social Action Committee is to provide Temple Beth Tikvah members with opportunities to carry out the mitzvah of tikkun olam, repair the world. The goal is to dedicate ourselves anew to our legacy of social justice through actions that will make the world a better place.

Temple Beth Tikvah congregants are committed to meeting the needs of the broader community through a variety activities, including:

  • Food and clothing drives
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Volunteering at homeless shelters
  • Assisting the victims of natural disasters

Many of these activities are organized by our Social Action Committee or one of our many other organizations.

TBT hosted a congregation-wide day of learning focused on Tikkun Olam (repair of the world). More than 20 area service organizations came to share their mission, engage with congregants and provide opportunities for hands-on Mitzvot that extend beyond that day. Organizations attending focus on issues including: hunger, homelessness, Israel, the underprivileged, refugees, animal rescue (with special visitors), the environment and more.
