I'm A Member - I Want to Get Involved
Welcome TBT members.
We welcome you to our community. Your financial support is important, but just as important is your personal engagement with the community. Your participation in the community insures our vibrancy and longevity. People who take an active role by volunteering, even in small doses, are rewarded with satisfaction and value beyond a dollar value.
In addition to helping the community, volunteers experience much more pride and a sense of personal ownership and pride in the Temple and the Jewish community. They also make connections and friendships with others in the community, and conversely, become better known and respected by the community.
As a Temple Beth Tikvah member, you are encouraged to make a personal commitment of volunteer time per year. You can do something that you already know well. If you are a marketing person, you can work on promoting a Temple event or fundraiser. If you are an accomplished chef, you can help with a Seder or Oneg, or even teach a class on Jewish cooking If you have kids in the religious school, you might consider volunteering as being a teaching assistant. If you'd like to learn something new, you can learn to chant Torah, lead a part of a Shabbat service, organize a Temple investment club, or help plan a kosher wine tasting. You can join one of our existing committees, or start one of your own. The possibilities are endless.
How do you get started? Review the committees and chairpersons. If you don’t find something you are looking for, call the office, and speak to any of our Board members and let us know you'd like to volunteer. Find a committee chairperson, and give them a call or attend a committee meeting to find out what that committee does and if it’s something you'd be interested in getting involved with. If you have no idea what you'd like to do, call anyway! There are always things going on that could use your help!
